Description

The American Gold Buffalo coin, first issued in 2006, features the purest gold composition of any annually issued brilliant uncirculated coin by the United States Mint, with an incredible .9999 gold purity.

The worldwide popularity and excellent reputation of the US Mint grant these coins high liquidity and low premiums over the gold spot price.

The obverse side displays the legendary right-facing effigy of a proud Native American Indian, designed by James Earle Fraser. The design combines an image of three Native American Chiefs from different tribes: Two Moons (Cheyenne), John Big Tree (Seneca), and Iron Tail (Lakota). The Word "Liberty" serves as the legend of the coin in bold lettering.

The reverse design depicts an American bison, which legend dictates is Black Diamond, a Bison that served as the main attraction of the Central Park zoo in the 20th century. The image is accompanied by the coin's nation of issue, its $50 face value guaranteed by the US government, weight and purity, and the mottos "In God we Trust," and the Latin phrase "E Pluribus Unum" ("Of Many, One in English).

Above and beyond, these coins are distinguished as collectors' favourites for their aesthetic appeal, historical value, and meticulously engraved features.

ABOUT GOLD BUFFALO COINS

The American Buffalo is an official gold bullion coin of the United States of America, produced by the reputable United States Mint at the West Point Mint branch. Gold Buffalos have the purest gold content amongst all the US Mint bullion coins with .9999 Pure Gold (24 kt).

The high purity of these gold coins makes them exempt from sales tax in many legislations. These coins are also IRA-approved.

Three versions of these gold coins are generally produced: two numismatic versions in proof and reverse proof finish, and BU condition (brilliant uncirculated bullion finish). American Buffalo gold coins are only available in one troy ounce and have not been offered in fractional versions since 2008.

ABOUT THE UNITED STATES MINT

Established in 1792 as the first national mint in the United States, the United States Mint is a bureau of the Department of the Treasury responsible for official legal tender coinage production. The US Mint has a mission to serve Americans as the sole manufacturer and distributor of circulating currency coins. They also produce commemorative coins for collectors, silver and gold bullion coins for investors (such as the popular Eagle and Buffalo series), and Congressional Medals.
